Butterick
The original graded sewing patterns.
Butterick has a special place in sewing history: founded by Ebenezer Butterick in 1863, it produced the first graded paper dressmaking patterns, transforming home sewing for generations. Today the brand is known for stylish, wearable patterns — from everyday separates and dresses to its much-loved retro and vintage-inspired reissues.
We stock Butterick patterns at Pearce's Pins for customers who love to sew at home, and we're always happy to advise on choosing the right size, adapting a pattern to fit, or picking a suitable fabric. Prefer to have the garment made for you? Hilary can make up any Butterick pattern as a bespoke, made-to-measure commission in our Ixworth workshop.
